About Nox's Night Run
Nox's Night Run is an original Q00P retro arcade game starring Nox, a small city-dwelling possum exploring a fictional city after dark. The game combines several short arcade challenges instead of repeating the same mechanic throughout the entire experience. In Snack Sweep, Nox searches a rooftop for food while avoiding roaming mop-bots. Delivery Lane turns the game into a fast obstacle-dodging challenge filled with bikes, crates, and puddles. Lightstep introduces a stealth mechanic where Nox must collect rooftop passes while staying out of rotating security lights. Completing the main challenges unlocks Endless Night, a 60-second score-attack mode designed for replayability and higher scores. Nox's Night Run was created as an original browser game for Q00P. Its characters, setting, code, procedural visuals, UI text, and generated sound effects are original to this project and do not use third-party game assets. The game runs directly in a modern web browser, requires no installation, supports keyboard controls, and includes touch controls for mobile devices. Progress, unlocked challenges, and high scores are stored locally in the player's browser.
How to play
Start Nox's Night Run and choose an available challenge. Snack Sweep: Move around the rooftop and collect enough snacks before the timer expires. Avoid the roaming mop-bots. Use Dash to move quickly when a bot gets too close. Delivery Lane: Travel through the late-night city route while avoiding bikes, crates, puddles, and other obstacles. Move between safe positions and use Dash when you need to pass through danger quickly. Lightstep: Collect all three rooftop passes while avoiding the rotating security-light cones. Watch each light's movement pattern and move when the route is clear. Endless Night: Complete the main challenges to unlock the bonus score-attack mode. Survive for 60 seconds while avoiding increasingly frequent obstacles and try to beat your locally saved high score. Your unlocked challenges and best score are stored locally in your browser.
Tips
Do not use Dash constantly. Saving it for dangerous moments makes it much more useful. In Snack Sweep, keep moving and plan a route between nearby snacks instead of crossing the entire rooftop for one item. In Delivery Lane, focus on the space immediately in front of Nox rather than watching every obstacle on the screen. In Lightstep, observe the rotating security lights before moving. A short wait can be safer than rushing into a light cone. Complete the three main challenges before focusing on high scores. This unlocks Endless Night, where the game becomes more replayable. On mobile, use short directional presses for precise movement instead of holding a button continuously.
