Q00P · MOONFORGE COLONY TOOL

Upgrade ROI Calculator

Compare the next Moonforge upgrades against your current colony. The calculator keeps Credits, Metal and Research Data as separate resources, then models the incremental Credits/hour that the upgrade can unlock through the current mining, logistics and refinery chain.

METHODOLOGY

What “ROI” means here

Building upgrade Credit and Metal costs use Moonforge's own level formula. Worker and hauler purchase prices use the game's exponential purchase formulas. Research keeps its listed Data and Credit requirements and respects prerequisite research.

The income model follows the game's actual earning paths: delivered Ore pays different Credits depending on whether it goes to a Refinery or Warehouse, and a refinery adds its own Credit value when a processing cycle completes. Efficient Processing changes Ore per cycle, while Metal Multiplication changes both Metal yield and the refinery Credit value.

Logistics remains a structural estimate rather than a claim of exact live throughput. Moonforge has one mine loading bay, destination queues, convoy blocking, route travel, partial-load departures and randomized depot waits. This calculator therefore uses the same queue-free route model as the Worker–Hauler Planner to compare one upgrade against another, while clearly treating the result as modeled steady-state capacity.

A zero Credit payback does not mean an upgrade is useless. Worker Hub, Warehouse, Research Lab, Power Station, Deep Mining and Housing Capacity can unlock capacity or progression without directly increasing current Credits/hour. Those are labeled as strategic or capacity upgrades rather than assigned a fake monetary ROI.
